Program Associate

With national visibility and local accolades as the tri-state area’s top source for robust and entertaining educational experiences, Historic Hudson Valley (www.hudsonvalley.org) welcomes more than 300,000 visitors a year to our school programs, large-scale special events, and tours of historic properties including Washington Irving’s Sunnyside, Van Cortlandt Manor, and Philipsburg Manor.

Historic Hudson Valley, Westchester County’s largest cultural organization, seeks hard-working, enthusiastic, outgoing Program Associates who will provide meaningful, accurate interpretation of these National Historic Landmarks to visitors of various ages.

These are part-time, seasonal positions that run April through December. Applicants must be available for the full season. (Candidates who have only summertime availability will not be considered.) Due to the nature of our programs, these positions offer and require a lot of flexibility (weekend, holiday, and evening availability are a must).

You must be high energy, in good physical condition, and be able to work outdoors in all kinds of weather. Knowledge of K-12 education, differentiated learning styles, hospitality experience, and an interest or background in education, history, museum education or related field is highly desired.

In the role of Program Associate, you will be giving tours and guiding the public through our historic sites, helping history come alive for visitors of all different backgrounds. Opportunities are also available to serve on committees to develop new and refresh existing youth and family programs, including after school programs, our spring break program, and educational family festivals. You will also be working on our exciting roster of special events, including The Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze, Horseman’s Hollow, Sheep to Shawl, Pinkster, Vote Like a Girl, and many others.
