The heartbreaking ad about Violet, "the wench," really spoke to me. Not only did she have to worry about herself in escaping, but the lives of her two young sons as well. I felt that this ad really expressed how desperate slaves were to be free. Violet put her life, and the lives of her sons, in danger, but for the price of sweet freedom.
