Kykuit, the Rockefeller Estate, is our most popular group destination. Built by the philanthropist John D. Rockefeller, founder of Standard Oil, Kykuit is the pre-eminent domestic landmark in the Hudson Valley. Visitors enjoy the elegant rooms, expansive, beautifully kept gardens and the collection of carriages and classic autos. Visitors particularly enjoy the stories of the four generations of Rockefellers who called this hilltop paradise their home. There are seven ways to visit Kykuit, explained on the next page. Groups to Kykuit often add on a visit to the nearby Union Church of Pocantico Hills. Note: it is not necessary to book a trip to Kykuit to book a visit to the church.

Philipsburg Manor in Sleepy Hollow, NY, a working farm of the 18th century, tells the story of an expansive Hudson Valley estate owned by a family of Dutch origin and operated by a community of enslaved Africans. Several rooms in the manor house have been recently refurnished to all for an interactive experience that allows visitors to handle reproduction objects. Tours to Kykuit begin at Philipsburg Manor's visitor Center, so your group can visit two sites without re-boarding your motor coach.

Washington Irving's Sunnyside, one of the most famous houses in America, enjoys an unspoiled riverfront setting. The house, grounds, colorful gardens, and river views have been charming visitors for many generations. As at Philipsburg Manor, guides wear period clothing, heightening the sense of a trip back in time.

Van Cortlandt Manor is nine miles north of Philipsburg Manor and Kykuit. There, visitors experience the domestic life of a patriot family of the late 1700s. Visitors see the manor house itself, filled with treasures, and enjoy the activities ongoing at the site, which may include blacksmithing, open-hearth cooking, spinning, weaving, and brick making.

Montgomery Place Historic Estate is located a few miles north of Rhinebeck, in the Great Estates Region. If you're visiting Hyde Park, for example, you could include a stop at Montgomery Place. Its best features are the gardens and landscape, nature trails, river views, and picnicking opportunities. (The house is currently closed for restorations.)
