This luxury inn is a member of the Small Luxury hotels of the World network and is a destination in itself. The 100 year-old landmark, also a member of the National Trust's Historic hotels of America, features extraordinary views of the Hudson River ; oversized luxury suites furnished with antiques, fireplaces, and four poster beds; and a new wing that includes more than 20 rooms at more moderate prices. While Tarrytown House Estate made its name as a conference center, this appealing destination offers rooms for individual visitors. The "campus" contains a collection of historic and modern buildings and features river views, outdoor and indoor swimming pools, tennis, and an exercise facility. Both Washington Irving's Sunnyside and Lyndhurst can be reached on foot from Tarrytown House.
Crabtree's Kittle House Inn
Chappaqua, NY
This historic (1790) inn features 12 guestrooms in addition to its well-known restaurant, in a leafy residential setting near the Readers Digest headquarters. No pool. Business travelers are welcome, and rooms have high-speed internet connection. Complimentary continental breakfast. The Thayer Hotel at West Point Military Academy
This gothic-style hotel was built in 1926 and extensively renovated in 1996. Its location on the campus of the United States Military Academy at West Point makes it the ideal place to stay for the heritage tourist - and the most secure! The river views from the rooms facing east, and from some of the public rooms and the dining terrace, are sensational. West Point is located on the west side of the Hudson River about 45 minutes north of Tarrytown; the scenic route is via the Bear Mountain Bridge.
Inn at Monteverde
Cortlandt Manor, NY
This small inn, located inside Bear Mountain State Park, has only two rooms; both have Hudson River views. In-season rates are in the $500-800 range. We have not visited yet, but the rooms look unusually well-appointed, as one would expect at those prices. The Inn offers spa services described online, and has a restaurant that has received strong reviews, including one in the New York Times (October 2005) that rated it "very good" (second highest rating). Another favorable notice appeared in the Times in December 2005. Texts of the reviews are online.

Courtyard by Marriott (Tarrytown)
Tarrytown, NY
The hotel reports (May, 2007) that it is "newly renovated" with 120 rooms and 19 suites. The hotel offers free high-speed Internet. Breakfast is served at the "Courtyard Cafe" which we have not yet visited. There is a fitness center, indoor pool, lobby with fireplace, and two meeting/function rooms accommodating up to 40 people.
Crowne Plaza Hotel
White Plains, NY
A modern business hotel located adjacent to The Westchester, a premiere shopping mall featuring anchor stores Nordstroms and Neiman Marcus. Bloomingdales and Saks Fifth Avenue are nearby. The setting is "downtown" rather than "country," but the hotel is roughly 15 minutes from Tarrytown. Indoor pool, exercise room, restaurant.
Doral Arrowwood
Rye Brook, NY
A well known resort hotel and conference center, the Doral Arrowood has a modern corporate feel, but is well designed. The resort has a golf course, spectacular indoor/outdoor pool, exercise facilities and dining. The resort is located close to the extraordinary Pepsico Sculpture Gardens, and Purchase College, where you will find the Neuberger Museum of Art and the Performing Arts Center, all highly recommended. The resort is about 15 minutes from Tarrytown.
DoubleTree Hotel

Located in the heart of Sleepy Hollow Country, the Doubletree Hotel (formerly
the Tarrytown Hilton Inn) is very near Washington Irving's Sunnyside and
Lyndhurst. The hotel reopened in 2008 after a renovation and upgrade so
extensive that this has to be called a brand new luxury hotel.

This hotel is set on an attractive 30-acre "campus" surrounded by woods just outside of White Plains. The resort-like facility includes a restaurant, lounge, indoor pool, fitness room, tennis courts. The hotel is located less than 15 minutes from Tarrytown.
Ritz-Carlton Hotel

This new hotel is nearing completion (December, 2007) in downtown White Plains. It will include 122 rooms, a spa, fitness center, and two restaurants: BLT Steak and "42," so-named because it's on the 42nd floor.
Sheraton Tarrytown Hotel

Opened in January 2007. This hotel has 150 rooms, a full-service restaurant, an indoor pool, and a complete website.

New in 2004. Marriott's moderately priced hotel. 145 "studio suites." These are larger rooms (not the traditional multi-room suite) with separate areas for eating, sleeping, and sitting. Complimentary continental breakfast in an unusually attractive room set aside for this purpose; free local shuttle van service; indoor pool, whirlpool, exercise room; facilities for business communication; snack shop; meeting room; covered parking; and other amenities.

With its 10 floors and 444 rooms, the Westchester Marriott is one of the largest hotels in Westchester.
