The stained glass windows of the Union Church of Pocantico Hills provide a unique view of the work of two modern masters, Henri Matisse (1869-1954) and Marc Chagall (1887-1985). Commissioned by the Rockefeller family, the windows represent the last completed work of Matisse and the only cycle of Chagall church windows in the United States.
Admission: $6 Program length:1 1/2 hours Group limit: 30 Grades: 3-8 Donkeys, Doves and DreamsThe program begins with a slide presentation exploring the different media Matisse and Chagall worked in as well as their differing techniques and styles. An interactive tour of the windows follows with students identifying the fantasy, forms, and creatures in the stained glass windows. After the tour, students create their own stained glass designs.

The program ends with students discussing what they have seen and found in the windows.
