In Person Are You Bringing a Group?Particularly popular with groups are these combination experiences: 1. Kykuit & The Union Church of Pocantico Hills This package includes your choice of Kykuit tour (options described on the left) PLUS a visit to The Union Church of Pocantico Hills. The church contains stained glass windows by Henri Matisse and Marc Chagall commissioned by members of the Rockefeller family in the 1950s and 1960s. In a real sense, the church is an extension of the Rockefeller art collection that groups see at Kykuit. The church is only five minutes from Kykuit, thematically linked, low in cost, and an informal, ½ hour complement to your Kykuit visit. 2. Kykuit & Historic Philipsburg Manor This package includes your choice of Kykuit tour (options described on the left) PLUS a visit to Philipsburg Manor. Philipsburg is a working farm and water-powered grist mill of the mid-18th century, preserved and restored through the generosity of John D. Rockefeller, Jr. Kykuit and Philipsburg Manor are very different in subject matter, which makes for a particularly stimulating day. Since both locations share a visitor center, there is no need to re-board the bus. The tour of Philipsburg is largely self-guided, which makes for a relaxing and informal experience. 3. Kykuit & Washington Irving 's Sunnyside This package includes your choice of Kykuit tour (options described on the left) PLUS a visit to Washington Irving's Sunnyside. (Sunnyside was purchased and preserved for future generations by John D. Rockefeller, Jr.) Groups visiting the area for the first, and possibly only, time will appreciate a tour that includes Sunnyside. This charming riverside home of the author of "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" and other popular stories is among the most famous houses in American history. Both Kykuit and Sunnyside are must-see National Historic Landmarks. Sunnyside is off Route 9, about ten minutes south of the Kykuit Visitor Center. |
