Slithering into it

SnakeWEB.jpgAs anyone who even occasionally glances at this blog knows, Blaze begins tonight. Last-minute preparations are going fast and furious. Our slithering friend on the left is definitely ready for viewing. This shot was taken at last night's dry-run.

Tickets for this weekend are almost entirely gone. Some availability remains for 9 p.m. tonight and Sunday and 9:30 p.m. tomorrow, but that's it. The other Saturdays (Oct. 13, 20 and 27) are now totally sold out.

A REMINDER: Don't forget about the Blaze YouTube Video Contest. Those who are roaming amidst the pumpkins this weekend or next are encouraged to use their videography and/or photography skills to make a great Blaze YouTube video. The winner takes home a 42-inch plasma television, high-def DVD player, and a bunch of DVDs. Not a bad haul!

Entering is free. For full information, check out the link on the right-hand side of this page.

1/2 price vouchers
written by Linda Johns, October 12, 2007 @ 12:35 PM
I came last night in the pouting rain because of course there are no rainchecks. However MANY of the pumpkins were out both the electric ones and the candlelit ones. The entire group of ones on the house and to the side were out as were a number of other displays. It would be nice if on a night like last night you could offer 1/2 price vouchers for a chance to come back again. I think people might come back to see it again if they had something like that.
Thanks (and about those unfresh pumpkins)

Bill and Kylie: Many thanks! The Blaze creative heads read the blog regularly and will enjoy seeing your kind words.

Elisa: Not to worry. Yes, the swamp-like weather we are having is sure to take a toll on the orange guys (to say nothing of the Van Cortlandt deer). But, any pumpkins that are feeling not so fresh are replaced. Carving goes on throughout the month. You will see it all!

Will the pumpkins be fresh if you go later in the month? How do they keep them looking good?

Prinitng Tickets
written by karen L krautheim, October 05, 2007 @ 03:11 PM
I should have heeded the warning when I saw another comment about printing tickets for the Blaze.
I have emailed twice (in fairness in the last 20 minutes) and have been dialling the number printed in a magazine ad and get a fast busy like its off the hook.
I also don't see anything here as a phone contact.
Seems to me you need to revisit with your tix priniter set up. In the meantime can someone get this resolved.

Please email me asap.
