Vernacular Buildings
Philipsburg Manor
Philipsburg Manor's historic area includes an 18th-century New World Dutch Barn of unusual interest, brought to the site from a location in upstate New York . The Manor House is a stone structure dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. The water-powered gristmill is a reconstruction, including authentically designed machinery, with massive wooden parts.

Van Cortlandt Manor
The sandstone and granite house at Van Cortlandt Manor was built in stages over time and has been restored to the New Nation period. The house type, once commonplace in many parts of America, is now a rare survival. The brick and frame Ferry House was built before 1750.

Union Church
Ludwig W. Eisinger (1875-1935) designed this small neo-gothic church and the cornerstone was laid in 1921. The church is meant to recall the vernacular buildings in an English manorial village, part of the designed set piece hamlet for the entrance to Kykuit, the Rockefeller estate.
