Okra, Beans, And Leafy Greens: The African-American Foodways Festival

Philipsburg Manor's third annual African-American Foodways Festival lets visitors explore the influence of enslaved and free Africans on colonial and contemporary American foodways. The event, held in conjunction with Stone Barns Center for Food & Agriculture, includes demonstrations of West African, West Indian, and colonial American foodways; dance performances; children's planting, harvesting, and cooking activities; tours of the slaves' garden at Philipsburg Manor; and tasty West African, West Indian, and colonial American food for sale. Enjoy activities at both sites and take advantage of a free shuttle that runs between Philipsburg Manor and Stone Barns throughout the day.

Admission: Adults, $15; Seniors 62+, $12, Children 5-17, $8; Members and children under 5 admitted free.
