At Summerweek History Day Camp (ages 9 - 11), children have fun while experiencing the daily life of the 18th and 19th-century. Camp counselors are experienced educators and make the camp a fun and educational experience. Enrollment begins in March and space is limited. At Van Cortlandt Manor's camp the nation is newly born. The weathy Van Cortlandts live side-by-side with their slaves and the working class. Campers experience the daily lives of the manor's residents on the banks of the Croton River. There's lots of tasks to accomplish like making bricks, punching tin, spinning wool, and quilting. Plus, there's lots of fun to be had playing period games, fishing, and cooking a colonial luncheon. 9:30am to 3:30pm Fee: $300 per week, discounts for multiple weeks and for Members Reservations required: 914-631-820, Ext. 643 |
