Partners help HHV bring Halloween to light

Recording artist and Halloween fanatic Richard Christy recently observed that going to Blaze is “like walking into the perfect Halloween movie.” Featuring more than 5,000 hand-carved jack o’ lanterns (some in motion!), enhanced lighting and sound effects, and Christy’s all-original soundtrack, you might think you’ve stumbled onto an 18th-century Tim Burton film set. Thanks to creative director Michael Natiello and our industrious crew, this magic is recreated at Van Cortlandt Manor night after night.

Together, Blaze and HHV’s other beloved Halloween events—Horseman’s Hollow, Legend Celebration, and Irving’s ‘Legend’—draw more than 100,000 visitors to Sleepy Hollow Country each fall. Like many Hallows Eve treats and traditions, from pumpkin ale to Rocky Horror, these events started as a spark and spread like wildfire. Already, more than 22,000 people showed up for opening weekend this year, and tickets continue to go up in smoke!

But, behind all the lore and roar of these events is a cast of supporters, community members, and partners who help make them sparkle. Entergy and KeyBank form a dynamic duo of corporate sponsors for Blaze. With their support, HHV is able to keep the Blaze fresh, creative, and firmly at the forefront of Halloween-inspired programming. Media sponsors WHUD/The Peak and Journal News Media Group help us get the word out nearby, as well as far and wide. Nearly 1,000 volunteers pitch in to help scoop, scrape, and carve the pumpkins. And, Girl Scout troops and employees from New York Life Insurance Company and The Ritz-Carlton, Westchester are helping us light thousands of pumpkins before show time.

Similarly, Horseman’s Hollow, Legend Celebration, and Irving’s ‘Legend’ are produced by a tireless team of artists and staff members. These events are made possible by the First Niagara Bank Foundation, our new neighbor and partner. Having recently expanded to the Hudson Valley, First Niagara is committed to supporting the local community and is working with HHV to make these family-friendly events a continued success.
Come see the magic for yourself this weekend or next!
