The Emperor commands you to dance!

We can guarantee you’ve never heard anything quite like Emperor Norton’s Stationary Marching Band, which kicks off the festivities at A Night of Fire on June 21 and 22 taking place for the first time at Philipsburg Manor in Sleepy Hollow. This high-energy ensemble gets audiences of all ages dancing, clapping, and twirling to its irresistible rhythms and musical outpourings of pure joy.

This merry band of emperors takes Steampunk, an ever-evolving visual aesthetic genre containing elements of science fiction, Victorian and futuristic touches, and turns it into an auditory delight.

Here’s what Norton’s website has to say: “Our Circus Band combines the rich musical history of the circus and the vagabond peoples of Europe with the raw energy of avant-garde jazz, burning heat of funk and the irreverent fun of today's Vaudeville for an experience that is somehow familiar yet like none other.”

And more from The Boston Globe: “The Stationary Band melts down steam-punked Gypsy marches, klezmer freakouts, and Dixieland jazz rags into a sort of post-apocalyptic shuffle.”

You. Can’t. Miss. This.

And believe it or not, music is only the beginning of the night’s entertainment. After the tunes, A Different Spin will present a jaw-dropping spectacle of fire juggling and comedy.

Order your tickets now for A Night of Fire, with performances at 8:15 and 10 p.m. both nights. Tickets are $20; $15 for children 17 and under. Members receive a $5 per ticket discount.
